The Merchants - The Merchants play an eclectic mix of styles ranging from Johnny Cash and Elvis to When in Rome, Sublime, and Green Day. Past performances have been at the RME, Great River Brewery, and Downtown Central Perk.
Ben Florence- keyboard, vocals - Ben is a senior at Central High School where he participates in symphonic band, choir, jazz band, musical & show choir pits and pep band. He's played locally in a few bands including 2015 RME Winter Blues All Stars, and Juliana and The Soul Purpose. Ben is instructed by Dr. Marian Lee. He's an IMTA award winner and Baroque Festival Finalist.
John Quijas - guitar, vocals - John is a senior at Central High School where he participates in symphonic band, choir, musical & show choir pits and pep band. John also performs regularly At Maloney's in Eldridge, and Bleyart's.
Matt Diiulio - percussion -Eighteen-year-old Matthew DiIulio plays drums and percussion for The Merchants and other QC bands. He was born with a sense of natural rhythm and started playing on pots and pans at the age of 9 months. He is a John Phillip Sousa Band Award winner and has participated in many Quad City Solo & Ensemble competitions for Alleman High School. Matthew has recently accepted a music scholarship from St. Ambrose University and plans to minor in music. Whenever you see him, you will always notice a slight tapping of the foot because his rhythm never dies.
Zac Bartels- bass -Born in Memphis and raised in Davenport, Zac Bartels started playing piano at the age of five. He found his calling playing bass and has played in various praise bands in the Quad Cities as well as Davenport Central High School's Marching Blue Devils, Show Choir pit, and concert and jazz bands. His musical influences are his bass mentor ToddeFunk of TobyMac and DiverseCity, Victor Wooten, and the legendary John Entwistle from The Who.
